Our Spiritual and Activism Clothing Brand: A Clothing Brand Tailored to You
There are so many things that make you who you are. There is a strong correlation between what you eat, where you live, who your friends are, and the activities you enjoy. If any of these things have left a positive impression on you, it’s likely they're reflected in the career path you choose. Finding yourself is an ongoing process for everyone. There are so many ways that we express who we are as individuals–through the things we like, the places we visit, and even the brands that we support. Whether it’s through reading, committing to yoga or listening to music, there are so many ways to express your self-awareness and find your true self. Let us discuss how my awakening led me down a path filled with activism spirituality & fashion.
Our Journey Through Activism and Spirituality
The journey to finding your voice doesn’t happen overnight. It’s a process that you have to experience and live through. Our journey began after my spiritual awakening. I grew up in Nigeria, a country with rich culture and history. Despite its rich history, corruption and poverty is very high. Nigerians are warm and pleasant people, and most belong to some form of religion. This could be Christianity, Islam, or traditional practices handed down by our forefathers. I guess we had to believe in something to get through the day-to-day hardship. So, many were religious inclined, and a few I knew were spiritual. As a kid, I was more religious than spiritual. I actually didn’t know what spirituality was until a few years ago.
So what is spirituality? Spirituality to me is knowing and loving "self" and realising that what I do to another, I do to self. It’s sometimes hard for me to understand "self" the God within, but I know this too will pass. It is important for me to consciously make the choice to be my best version.
My early 20s and most of my adulthood was in Austria, a time when you had some kind of right as a foreigner and you exercised it if you know the law or was courageous enough as oppose to today where the rights of everyone is stepped on by the elites/ those in power. In the early 2000, been black and Nigerian in Austria was tough, and from what I hear, not much has changed for African immigrants living in there. Austria is a great country, and I have met many good people there, but my stay in Austria planted in me I guess the seeds of activism. The way some police and public administrators misused their power to punish some of us was appalling. Our status as second-class citizens was clear to me, when it suited those in authority. Folks, I learnt quickly “if you aren’t ready to fight for your truth, know one will hear you”.
I observed many things during the Covid lockdowns, including the increase in censorship, the way people were forced to get vaccinated against their will or not get unemployment benefits, the one-sided narrative of mainstream media, authoritarian acts by politicians, the de-platforming of users by big tech, and big Pharma putting profit before lives as usual. It made me realise it was time to combine the two things that I am passionate about into a brand. The Consciousbuzz brand was born. We combine spiritual clothing design and activism clothing design in our collection, We intend to encourage and, when necessary, stimulate dialogue within communities. My experiences helped me find my voice as an activism & spiritual clothing brand.
Finding Your Voice Through Activism
Activism expresses political or social ideals. It’s a form of civil disobedience, a desire to bring about change. There are many ways, you can express advocacy:
- You can raise awareness about issues that concern you through protest.
- You can vote for the politicians that you think will best represent your views.
- You can also join an organization or political party.
We all have our own specific causes, that we believe in. It’s important to find a cause that is important to you and relevant to your life. It’s important to remember that you don’t have to be part of an organization to be an activist. You can spread awareness about important issues through the choices you make in your daily life. It’s important to find your voice and use it to make a difference in the world!
“I’m for truth, no matter who tells it. I’m for justice, no matter who it is for or against. I’m a human being, first and foremost, and as such I’m for whoever and whatever benefits humanity as a whole.”
Finding Your Voice Through Spirituality
There are many definitions of what spirituality actually is, and ways to find your voice through spirituality. These may include:
- You can go to a place of worship, like a church, temple, mosque or nature.
- You can also spend time in quiet reflection, practising mindfulness.
- You may choose clothing that connects you with your “spiritual self” Many people wear jewellery that has spiritual significance, such as a cross. Others wear clothing that expresses their beliefs through symbols of faith. For example, Muslims wear the Hijab as a symbol of their spirituality.
It’s important to remember that spirituality is a journey that is personal to each person. You are free to express your spirituality in any way that feels natural to you. You deserve to find your place of peace and tranquility in the world.
Janaya Future Khan: “What Activism Really Means
“Everybody is born into a script they didn’t write for themselves”. But activists defy that script to rewrite the narrative, non-binary activist, storyteller and former international ambassador for Black Lives Matter.
What Is the Point of Spirituality?
A lot of people are – rightly – very sceptical of what goes on under the word ‘spirituality.’ But might there be something of value nevertheless in aspects of what people call the spiritual?
Combining Activism and Spirituality to Find Your Voice
When you combine activism and spirituality, you create a powerful force that can change the world. These two passions complement each other and empowers your voice. Activism is the way that you fight for your rights and make your voice heard. Spirituality is the way that you find your inner peace and connect with your higher-self in the chaos and troubling times. When you combine these two things, you have a strong voice that can make a real difference in the world. Some ways to combine activism and spirituality may include:
- You can decide to have an open mind to the opposition.
- Choose to forgive others.
- Reject the fear to not do anything about your situation.
- Reject the fear of consequences for taking action as an activist.
These decisions need courage and will and there are many paths that you can follow, in bringing awareness to issues that you are passionate about, while being mindful.

Thinking of something meaningful to do? Why not spend time with a sad friend and be sad together. Sadness is unpleasant but what if the belief system surrounding this can be tweaked? Yes, you read that right: be sad together. When you think of being sad you might conjure up feelings of pain, loss, or anger. Or you can picture things like moping around and feeling sorry for yourself....
